DINING

Clearwater Beach offers a variety of restaurants to suit any palette. The omnipresent chains, like Waffle House and IHOP are easily accessed, but you can also find lots of medium-priced restaurants in the area.

Some of these restaurants are mentioned below to give you an idea of the numerous opportunities.
Le Pompano Restaurant (880 Mandalay Avenue) ... offers both gulf front and outdoor dining, with lobster night on Monday and Thursday.

Palm Pavilion (10 Bay Esplanade) ... certainly lives up it's name. Sit so close to the beach that you're almost in the sand, and watch the sunset from their patio. Live music is "on the deck" on weekends at this full service bar.

Frenchy's. This popular restaurant can be found at three locations on the beach (41 Baymont Street, 419 Poinsettia and 7 Rockaway Street). Since it's inception in 1981, these establishments have racked up the votes for "#1 Grouper Sandwich," year after year - they're definitely a local favorite.

Clearwater Beach Hotel (500 Mandalay Avenue) offers black-tie service and classic gourmet dishes with a Mediterranean and Caribbean flavor.

Bob Heilman's Beachcomber (447 Mandalay Avenue) offers a continental menu that includes New England seafood, Maine lobster, Everglades frog legs and "Back-to-the-Farm" chicken.

Domenics Capri Italian Restaurant (411 Mandalay Avenue) offers "Gourment Italian Cuisine at it's Finest".

Cooters Restaurant (423 Poinsettia Street) offers a variety of seafood and other specialty items in a unique atmosphere. With a "family-friendly" atmosphere, this establishment has something for everyone.

Reflections (400 Mandalay Boulevard). On Friday and Saturday nights, they offer a seafood and prime rib buffet, and a breakfast buffet every morning. It's fine dining with a huge variety of seafood, steaks and pasta.

Beach Diner (56 Cuaseway Boulevard). This restaurant is a landmark on Clearwater Beach, and it's the first thing you'll notice when arriving via the Memorial Causeway, and unlike the typical "diner," they have a large selection of seafood and other American specialties.

Krazy Bill's Clearwater Beach Seafoods (37 Causeway Boulevard). This restaurant's menu offers a wide array of seafood and other items. You can dine while watching the action in Clearwater Municipal Yacht Harbor from this terrific vantage point.

Britt's Beachside Café (201 Gulfview Boulevard). This open-air restaurant has a style all it's own. You can sit outside and gawk at a section of Gulfview Boulevard that is active all day and night, or sit inside this café and watch the tropical fish. The menu offers a variety of seafood, sandwiches and other specialties.

Calico Jack's on the Beach (430 S. Gulfview Boulevard/Adam's Mark Hotel) offers a large seafood buffet from 5-10PM daily, as well as an extensive breakfast buffet.

Shepards (601 S. Gulfview Boulevard). Whether you're looking to eat, drink or just be merry, this is definitely the "hot spot" on the beach - especially on the weekends, when live music drifts endlessly from this establishment.

Tropix (655 S. Gulfview Boulevard) touts "Drinx, Musix & Snax on the beach". Live entertainment is plentiful, the "people-watching" view is unbeatable, and they claim to have the largest frozen drink selection on the beach.

Anyone looking to continue their evenings after the dining is over can try some of the most popular places for entertainment and cocktails.
